PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
In Paris (France):
Maruska Guerreiro Lopes has more than twenty-three years of practice in international arbitration. She joined Leboulanger & Associés in 1994, having acted as Counsel and assistant to Arbitral Tribunals in hundreds of ad hoc and institutional international commercial arbitration cases conducted under the auspices of numerous arbitration centres (notably the ICC, CRCICA, Refined Sugar Association), between States, State-owned companies and major multi-nationals, from all over the world (notably Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and North America).
Maruska has extensive experience in disputes involving complex and sensitive legal issues, subject to a variety of laws (civil and common law legal systems), in various sectors, notably sales, distribution, agency, technology, defence, oil and gas, construction, banking & finance, telecommunications, hotel management, pharmaceutical industry, textile industry, industrial transfers, commodities and intellectual property.
Maruska also has a solid professional background in the prevention and settlement of litigation as well as in post arbitration proceedings (setting aside, recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards) before French Courts.
In São Paulo (Brazil):
Prior to moving to Paris, Maruska worked in the area of corporate law, litigation, family law and inheritance law in major law firms in São Paulo (Tavares Guerreiro Advogados, Pinheiro Neto and Mattos Filho & Suchodolski).
